The Johns Bambino Dear Fiat Club Members, The Barossa Festival and Grand Parade is with us once again. Now it is time for Murray and Joan to play again in the little Bambino. You may remember last Grand Parade the Fiat was made up as a computer mouse. On arriving home I skinned the mouse, saved the skin & recycled it this year. With the help of a BVHVC member we spray painted it red with large black spots on it. With the use of part of a BBQ kettle fr a head, which also turned from side to side, the worlds largest ladybird was created. We were both fitted with hard hats which I also made into ladybirds. To protect us from the elements there is an umbrella above us also made into a ladybird. Now the Fiat is all dressed up and ready to fly , however these is a problem. How to get in? There is only one way. Thats through the sun roof. I lift Joan on to the roof where she sits on a large poofay. Now I get my old bones over the top. With the help of a small ladder, "I made it !" I slide in behind the steering wheel in a half sitting, half standing position. "Doesnt feel too bad ! Oh, dont forget the ladder or we are buggard and wont be able to get out!" Now we are ready for the 7 Km journey from Nuriootpa to Tanunda and it is a fabulous day of 26C. On our way we passed something like 70,000 spectators, all cheering, waving and clapping their hands. The atmosphere was terrific. Two hours later we reached Tanunda where we ware almost exhausted from all the waving and returning their cheers. Maybe we will do it all again in 2 years time? Yours
truly, |
